Lions love to support local communities and charitable endeavours. This month we thought we’d share some ideas on how you can help in little ways that can mean so much for others:
• Donations of pre loved glasses (eyewear) can be dropped off at Clarence Town Medical Centre in Grey Street or Clarence Town Bowls Club.
• Trying to declutter or repurpose with good will in mind? Consider posting on local social media pages like Buy Nothing Seaham/Raymond Terrace/Paterson/Clarence Town, NSW.
• Attend a local meeting with Lions or the Progress Association and share your ideas.
• Volunteer your time with Meals on Wheels, Clarence Town Lions, ADSSI Dungog and District Neighbourcare, or the Clarence Town Seniors Group.
• Visit or donate to Aussie Ark at the Barrington Tops who are focused on both animal and plant conservation efforts.
• Plant native trees and support local nurseries to boost our community environment.
• Check in with your neighbour and ask the question, “Are you okay?” We can make a difference with all the small things that we do. Being kind costs nothing but is incredibly rewarding both for those who give and those who receive.
The Clarence Town Markets are held on the last Saturday of each month. Upcoming dates are August 31st and September 28th. In case of rain, the Markets will move to the Hall of Arts opposite IGA.
Upcoming events
• Father’s Day Raffle draw is on Saturday, August 31st. Tickets will be sold outside IGA on August 17th and at the Markets on the 31st.
• Next year Clarence Town Lions Club will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary. Stay tuned for more about this over the coming months!
New members are welcome to come to the monthly meeting at the Clarence Town Bowls Club, held on the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm.
