The Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, rolled out by Dungog Early Literacy, ensures children receive a new, age-appropriate book each month by mail, until they turn five. Along with each book, families receive a ‘Tip Sheet’ offering guidance on how to make the most of the story. Best of all, this program is completely free!
Baby Health Nurses from Hunter New England Health are distributing enrolment forms when they see new mums and their babies, broadening the reach of the program.
Dungog Early Literacy, supports the program by raising money to ensure that ongoing funds are available. They have support from a range of community organisations across the Dungog Shire and many individuals who have become sponsors. To support one child in the program costs $108 per year.
Dungog Early Literacy is extremely grateful to Clarence Town Lions Club for their support. They have donated funds to cover the cost of 5 children for a year. The Clarence Town Post Office crew have been very helpful assisting with enrolments. We also have individuals from Clarence Town who are sponsors of the program.
