Clarence Town Courthouse Museum: Curiosity and Community Building

Clarence Town Public School had a wonderful excursion to the Museum.

The students were inquisitive, polite, and completed school worksheets which kept them busy searching for various items in the museum. As usual, the well behind the Courthouse drew much interest, as did the locked machinery shed, where the corn shredder is kept – and still very much in working order!

Committee members attended the Upper Hunter Community Builders Program at Gloucester (for many the 3rd such meeting) and by the time you read this will have met again at Paterson, aiming to unite local volunteer groups and strengthen networks. The diversity of existing volunteer groups and interests across Dungog Shire is truly extraordinary.

The museum is planning a Spring Fair in September and an Arts Event in November—watch this space!

Museum Committee Secretary
