Clarence Town Public School: Strengthening Partnerships with our Local Schools

As a member of the Dungog & District Community of Schools, it is our priority to foster strong and effective partnerships with our local public schools. We have been privileged to be able to participate in many great combined experiences this term.

Barnyard to Bakehouse at DHS
On Thursday 11 September, our Stage 2 students had their first taste of high school life with a visit to the agricultural plot and farm at Dungog High School. Students learned about the production and storage of eggs and had the opportunity to feed and pick up some of the school chickens- Bob was particularly popular! Students then visited the sheep pens and were able to hold the new twin lambs. Year 8 students then assisted us in making our own butter in jars, before baking some delicious chocolate chip cookies.

Thank you to the students and staff of Dungog High School for showing us some of the engaging learning experiences on offer!

Preschool visit- Kindergarten 2026
Mrs Betteridge and I were excited to visit Clarence Town Preschool this term to see the wonderful learning environment and hear about the talents of the students starting at Clarence Town Public School in 2026. Everyone was happily engaged in sand play and drawing outside in the beautiful weather. We can’t wait to meet our new Kindergarten students next term.

‘On Country’ experience
Mr Myers, Mrs Russell and Miss M accompanied our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on an excursion to Baiame Cave, cultural site of the Wonnarua people. Our school joined with students from the Dungog & District Community of Schools to participate in a day of exploring the cave and engaging in weaving and language activities. Thank you to all schools for making the day such a wonderful experience for our students.
