Naked teapots and scorched dining tables of the Shire, rejoice! The Annual Dungog Tea Party Tea Cosy & Trivet Challenge is officially underway, and it is time to drop the remote and pick up the knitting needles, the jigsaw, or the hot glue gun. Because let’s be clear – this isn’t just a yarn party! While the tea cosies might be all about the textiles, the trivet challenge is an open invitation for the woodworkers, metalheads, tilesmashers, and mixed-media mavericks. We are calling all creatives to step up and showcase their skills to a crowd of over 800 eager attendees. The stakes are real, and by stakes, we mean cold hard cash prizes. With 7 fiercely contested themes (across tea cosies & trivets), there is a category for everyone. We’ve even got divisions for the kids – spanning pre-school, primary, and high school – plus a special “Recycled” category. Entries due by Sunday, 23 August 2026.
